In France legislations are in place which favor reuse of digital equipment for local authorities: since January 1, 2022, local authorities are required to acquire digital supplies from reuse or recycling, up to 20% of the total annual volume of digital goods purchases. In addition, the law provides that the old computer equipment of public administrations should be directed towards reuse and recycling channels (refurbishers, spare parts resellers, repairers or professional sellers).
